In 2008, as part of a course in secondary school, I constructed a small “butcher’s block” – essentially a small, portable workbench for the kitchen. I drafted the design myself, and made use of the school workshop to produce an attractive and functional piece of furniture. Below are a few images of the manufacturing process and the final product, featuring a Tasmanian Blackwood drawer and rack.
